Most people don’t struggle with knowing what to do when it comes to fitness.
They struggle with starting.
There’s always a reason to wait:
“I’ll start Monday”
“I just need to get organised first”
“I’ll start when I have more time”
“I’ll start after this week is over”
But if you zoom out, this pattern repeats itself for months… sometimes years. And the frustrating part? Nothing actually changes in that time except your confidence to start.
Why waiting feels productive (but isn’t)
Waiting gives you a sense of control. It feels like you’re preparing, planning, getting ready. But in reality, it often becomes avoidance disguised as preparation.
Because the truth is, You don’t need more time to start your fitness journey, you need less overthinking.
What actually helps you start
Starting doesn’t require motivation or a perfect plan. It requires simplicity.
Here’s what I recommend:
1. Set a minimum target for the week
2–3 gym sessions
That’s it Not 5. Not perfect. Just consistent.
2. Keep workouts simple
Full body or basic upper/lower split
Repeat exercises so you learn them properly
Focus on form, not complexity
3. Don’t change your entire life
You don’t need a new routine, new meal plan, and new identity in one day.You just need to take the first step.
The real secret to starting
The hardest part of fitness is not the training, it’s the gap between thinking about it and doing it.
Once you start showing up, even imperfectly, momentum builds quickly. Confidence doesn’t come before action. It comes from action. So instead of waiting for the “right time”…Start with what you can do this week. Because you don’t need a perfect start. You just need a start.
